University Temple Children’s School (UTCS) is seeking talented, reflective and creative individuals. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about early childhood education and want to collaborate with a co-teacher to dive in to a play-based, child led classroom. UTCS is a non-profit, secular organization and one of Seattle’s outstanding early learning centers, providing play-based, child-centered learning in a joyful, nurturing, and safe environment for over 50 years in the heart of Seattle’s University District. We have low classroom ratios and our teaching teams work collaboratively to give our children and families the best experience. We are a passionate, supportive, and team-spirited community and are looking for full time lead teachers to help implement age and developmentally appropriate curriculums and activities with their teaching teams. Our teachers are responsible for a safe, nurturing environment that is conducive to learning and exploration, parent communication, and maintaining a daily classroom schedule. We are hiring for full time positions Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00am-5:45pm.

We’re seeking thoughtful, creative educators who: • Are passionate about child-led, play-based learning • Are excited to co-lead a classroom with intention, flexibility, and curiosity • Bring strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit • Value equity, inclusion, and anti-bias teaching • Want to grow professionally in a supportive and reflective environment In this role, you will: • Co-lead a classroom with low child-to-teacher ratios • Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum based on children’s interests • Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families • Support social-emotional growth and problem-solving through play • Help maintain a safe, engaging, and organized classroom • Communicate regularly with co-teachers, mentors, and families • Participate in ongoing team planning and professional development Position Details • Full-time, Monday–Friday • 8-hour shifts between 8:00am–5:45pm (includes a paid lunch break)
- Qualifications – Required skills and experience.
Qualifications • At least 1 year of experience working with young children • High school diploma or equivalent required • ECE coursework, degree, or WA State ECE certificate preferred (or a plan to complete one within 3 years) • Must meet state licensing requirements within 30 days, including: o Portable background check o CPR/First Aid and BBP/HIV training o TB test o Food Handler’s Card o MMR and COVID-19 vaccinations
- This is a Full-Time position. Compensation: $22.68-$24.76 starting
