About this Group

Our sessions offer a fun, nurturing, and inclusive space where children (birth to age 5) and their caregivers — parents, friends, family, and neighbors — can play, connect, and grow together. Through joyful activities, our curriculum fosters inclusion, anti-racism, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Each 90-minute session includes: – Free Play (60 minutes): Child-led exploration through building, arts & crafts, pretend play, tummy time, and more. – Circle Time (30 minutes): Songs, stories, group sensory play, and shared learning activities. – Caregiver Connection: Resources for child development and kindergarten readiness, plus time to network, share, and support one another.

No enrollment is necessary!!!

Given P&L purpose, this is not a drop-off program and the caregiver must accompany the child all the time. For the same reason, it is not a good fit for daycare centers, preschools, or other childcare organizations. Play and Learn is a program of Denise Louie Education Center and funded by the Seattle Public Library. To keep this program free for the community, we collect anonymous data through a yearly survey. Your input helps us show impact and secure funding — thank you for your support!
